Karma Police - Great video
So Vanessa when are you going to do a Flying Guitar lesson ?

Of their own music (Walk Off The Earth), I prefer this live version to the video version of ..... Rule The World

Didn't know you like Radiohead btw. Well this one is a very cool song indeed. I also like Karma Police and Street Spirit.

btw This cover of Karma Police is really amazing, same group who did the song with five people and one guitar. Such talented musicians/artists!

The behind the scenes is very cool too, gosh it takes SO much concentration!

Many thanks Shel!
Walk off the earth is very coooooool. :)

That could very well be the case Dermot, it was quite impossible to play it exactly as written out. It's just an example. Random is the word, as usual. ;)

Hi Vanessa

This is a fun lesson.... no wonder your wrists hurt !

I'm looking at the notation and comparing what you strum for the intro, measure 8 Part 3 and Part 5.
Forgive me.... I just have to Creep back and ask

The Intro - Measure 8
Part 3 / 18.25 mins in and Part 5 / 3.41 mins in, don't seem to follow the notated measure 8.

My understanding of the the measure 8 written notation = D D UD DU D D

Thanks

Dermot

Vanessa

Is there any chance of you playing measures 7 and 8 (attached) as you do in Part 5 the slow it down and
counting them out loud.

I've listened so many times now and can't quite get the time right.

If you could do this, it would be really helpful for me getting to grips with strumming and time.

Vanessa

I think I understand measures 7 and 8 strum now as you play it.

I know that's not what you meant by random
Sorry

I liked the rhythm you played.
I think I can hear the unique difference between the nylon string and steel string guitar too.
That's a nice guitar you have.

Well I'm glad you understand the measures now Dermot. :)

As I'm sure you know, I really don't think this is the way to get the grips of strumming and timing though. You should make a better use of your time.....and yes, you're right, I mean something else when I say 'random'... ;)

....in truth....my head hurts trying to figure out your attachment... :S

There is definitely a unique difference in both guitars, I like them both too! :)
