Newest Target Members Only Lesson - Fly On The Wall - Songbird with Sandy

Hi everyone,

We have a new Target members exclusive lesson for today, Songbird with Sandy.

Sandy wanted to learn Songbird, but more like Christine McVie did on Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album rather than Eva Cassidy’s, which was a bit more embellished vocally.

We set out to make her own arrangement by starting with the progression and vocals, planning to work on a more complicated accompaniment later.

We decided to use the ‘D’ set of chords capoed to the third fret to put us in the original key of F. I charted out the chords for her just using numbers, giving us a chance to review chords in the key of D.

We ended talking about a hybrid, picking/strumming pattern to make the accompaniment interesting and varied.

That's funny Willem, It takes me a long time to learn new songs. I really do like this one, I think it'll be fun to learn.
