Hi everyone,

Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live, Kindred Spirits by Dave Nachmanoff.

Singer/Songwriter and TG Superstar Dave Nachmanoff has been writing and performing since he was a kid. He has also
been Al Stewart’s main accompanist for about 20 years.

Kindred Spirits is a song from his 1997 album Candy Shower and tells the story of his experience of meeting and playing
with Elizabeth Cotten as a 10-year old. The song mentions her classic ‘Freight Train’ and is very similar in its picking style.

This lesson goes over the progression and some of the typical picking patterns he uses but these have evolved over the
20 years since he wrote the song and that type of randomness and change is encouraged.

Enjoy this level 5 lesson!

I'm so glad to see this lesson!
Why?
1. Because it is such a good song and really fun to sing.
2. So that people who don't know about Dave's songwriting may discover it.
and
3. Selfishly, I've wanted to learn this one since the first time I heard it!

Thanks Neil!

Lynn

That's a great song - there's such a sense of release when it delivers the historic line 'Freight Train, Freight Train' ! And a good choice for a lesson , many thx Neil
