Hi everyone,

We have a new Target members exclusive lesson for today, Gaslight Rag, The Intro with Ed.

Gaslight Rag is a Dave Van Ronk tune that is a syncopated fingerpicking delight.

In this part of the lesson we focused on the intro, using it as an ear-training and rhythm exercise.

I played it a couple of different ways, trying to get Ed to discern some subtle differences. Tune up your ears and play along with us.

Enjoy!

I'm so glad that Ed decided to tackle this song. Now I can learn it correctly - I've been playing an easier version for years, but this sounds so much better! Well worth the effort. Thanks Neil and Ed.

BTW, I just picked up "The Mayor of MacDougal Street", a memoir by Dave Van Ronk. Fascinating history of The Village in the 50s and 60s.
