Hi everyone,

Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live, Bicycle Tune by John Renbourn.

John Renbourn’s 1976 solo guitar album The Hermit is a masterpiece of instrumental playing that is essential listening
for every guitarist. Bicycle Tune is a short, 4-part piece done in lute tuning (E-A-D-F#-B-E).

Each section gets a little more difficult than the previous one so I encourage students to put a lot of time into them
individually before moving onto the next.

Section A is simply a 7-beat phrase played a few times but it is very challenging from a sustaining angle, making each
note ring as long as possible as voices overlap.

Enjoy this level 8 lesson!

Neil

Amazing, you make everything seem so easy.
It must be difficult to play this tune without getting the sustain stepping all over itself !

Thanks for sharing another lesson in the world of John Renbourne.

Bicycle Tune is another that reflects what a great guitarist you are !

Hi Neil.. i am definitely in for this one, looking forward to section B.

nb which part of the tab book is wrong?? it doesn't help that it is not well printed, so the 3s look like zeros and the 6s look like 8s (or maybe it is my fading eyesight..). But i am guessing it is the first rundown in section D??

thx, david
