Hi everyone,
Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live, My Sweet Lady by John Denver.
My Sweet Lady is one of many beautiful, and very recognizable John Denver songs. It is played in Dropped D
Tuning using 3-string triads on the top strings, along with an open D in the bass over the changes in the verse.
It is mostly an arpeggio picking pattern but in the lesson we explore adding an alternate bass pattern, as well
as a few ways of embellishing the accompaniment.
There is also a section on movable chord shapes from the E, A and D families, which may require multiple
viewings if this is new to you.
Enjoy this level 4 lesson!

Since I am traveling and don't seem to have time to record anything these days, I will repost this video from about 10-12 months ago. (I hope you all don't mind!)
I am tuned 1/2 step down, but did not utilize the dropped "D" tuning.

I love your post of My Sweet Lady Bart. Your voice is perfect for that song. I'm learning that song right now too but Neil had to put it in a different key for me because I couldn't sing it in John Denver's key. :S.
I think that is one of his most beautiful songs. I also really like that song we played together at IGC one year, "Poems and Prayer's and Promises "
