Hi everyone,
We have a new Target members exclusive lesson for today, Ramblin’ Man with Fred.
Fred was working on Ramblin’ Man by The Allman Brothers, a relatively easy strumming
song, but the point of this was to use theory and ear training to piece together the chords.
After sorting it out we got into a heavy theory discussion along the lines of what chords
contain a given melody not. This involved being able to go through the musical alphabet in
thirds, forwards and backwards, and a review of scales and triads.
We also got into different fingerings for the intro and a general look at playing parallel thirds
up and down the top two strings.
A copy of the notes we made is included as an attachment to this lesson.
Enjoy!
