Today we added Our Lady Of The Well by Jackson Browne to the Target Program.

For Everyman, Jackson Browne’s second album, released in 1973, is probably my favorite of his, and Our Lady Of The Well is probably my favorite song on it. It opens, connected to Take It Easy, with a simple, but beautiful little melody picked out in the key of G.

The song is very easy to strum and play, with a couple barre chords.

The lesson goes through the progression, the intro, along with a bit of a harmony part added to it before the second verse, and ends with some thoughts on soloing in G using parallel thirds and sixths on the top three strings.

Hey Bart,

I would think for you this is just a matter of learning the words, with a little work on the intro.

Yes Neil, I am sure you are correct. It doesn't appear to be too complicated.

the interesting thing for me is that I became a huge fan of J.B. with the "Running On Empty" album. Really haven't ever heard this song before today when I saw your lesson. Makes me think that I need to do a lot more history on him because he is such a great writer and performer!

Thanks again for this lesson! It will be fun to put it together under my fingers.

Bart
