Hi Everyone,
We have a new Target and Pay Per Lesson release for you, How ‘Bout Us by Champaign!
How ‘Bout Us is a 1981 hit single recorded by R&B group Champaign and composed by
band keyboardist Dana Walden.
This lesson shows an acoustic version with a simple guitar arrangement.
We take a thorough look at the chords, including several ways of playing them, the double
time strumming and the progression.
The song starts out relatively easy, but gets a little harder when moving into the bridge and
final chorus. The latter involves a key change to C, three half steps up.
Enjoy this level 4 lesson!

Hmmmm, yummy play/sing through by my two favourite Dutchies  Nice!
Wow that was really beautiful. A very nice cover of a song that was a great blast from the past!
I loved the little exchange at the end which kinda said, yes we cracked it! and so you did.
Beautiful vocals with exquisite harmonies and as always great guitar backing.
Well done that was a joy to watch and listen to.

Love your comment Tom, thank you very much!
For us a great blast from the past as well. A challenge somewhat to cover with just one guitar and two vocal parts, but i decided to just keep it simple and sing whatever we were able to get in there.
The exchange at the end  , there was definitely a feeling of relief in there too, since it wasn't take 1 :S  But we did feel kinda like 'that went pretty okay'.
Many thanks again Tom, sure appreciate it!

Thanks for another great lesson! Another song I never heard before. Loving it. Watched all the lessons now to try to play along with you and then with the Champaign video. Thanks!

You know how I feel about your playthrough of this song and just how much I loved it. But I felt the need to tell you and our other beloved songbird again. I LOVE the feeling of love and a friendship that’s spanned many decades (captured perfectly in Dermot’s screen shot); I so LOVE the harmonies; I LOVE the counter melody lines; I LOVE the perfect accompaniment that is your playing; I simply love the way you both bring it all together. I think this is one of my favourites of all the songs you’ve performed together. Hmmmm... it’s a long list of wonderful duets... but it’s definitely right up there.
You’ve turned another song that’s normally performed by quite a few instruments into an arrangement for a single guitar and two beautiful voices. You’re a talented muso and a talented teacher. I’m a fan.
Love your work
Shel

Aaaaaw Thank you all so much!!! :woohoo:
I'm more than happy to hear all your wonderful comments :cheer:
Ness deserves most of the credits B)
She knows very well how to transform a multi layer song into a fantastic lesson for one guitar.
It's a true gift and for me it's always a pleasure to be part of the creation process.
Most blessed to be part of the TG family
Corina.
