Hi Everyone,

We have a new Target and Pay Per Lesson release for you, Those Magic Changes by Sha Na Na!

Sha Na Na is an American rock and roll group who began performing in 1969 and achieved national
fame after playing at the Woodstock Festival.

They appeared in the 1968 movie ‘Grease’ as a 1950s band called ‘Johnny Casino and the Gamblers'.

One of the songs that they performed was Those Magic Changes, which features a classic I, VI, IV, V
progression in the key of C.

This lesson teaches how to play it in the original key as well as the key of G. The latter might work
better for most male vocalists.

Besides the progression, which has one exception in the outro, we take a look at the chords, several
passing bass notes and the strumming.

Firstly I'd like to say............ I love that song. I never thought that it would ever work so well on an acoustic guitar.

Secondly, your singing just hit new heights! Those high bits, well missus, where did that come from? Just sublime! B)

Nothing more needs to be said really, but that won't stop me. That was a superb play through, had me smiling the whole way to the end.

There are several song lessons I've let slip by without getting to them. Busy with a lot of other stuff. But when I just saw this I had to drop everything and do it! Love this song!

I also love the Grease soundtrack. I still remember seeing this at the movie theatre as a kid. I tried to sit through the second show and my mom came and dragged me out

I agree with Tom! That was a perfect 50’s playthrough; very cute and boppy and your high vocal noodles are sweet and very cool. To take it on the road, all you need to add is a troupe of smartly dressed backup singers cooing behind you.

Of course with being soooo generous and for backing me up on such a song as well. Often enough i have no idea how a songlesson will be received. Grease's soundtrack is widely known of course, but just wasn't sure for this particular track, which has always jumped out to me for whatever reason.

And i lóve Grease's soundtrack, which i know inside out. I so lóve the melody is this song, how it goes up and up and UP! :ohmy: :laugh: I wish i could get to more Grease songs, but not too sure how that could/would work with one guitar. Well who knows.
