Hey Gang,
I was recently shocked to not find this lesson at TG and decided it needed to be remedied immediately. I could have sworn I did it years ago but apparently not. All is better in the world now. (At least some of it that I can contribute to).

Rainbow Connection was written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher for The Muppet Movie in 1979. The movie opened memorably with Kermit playing the banjo in the swamp and singing. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and was later covered by dozens of artists.

This lesson shows how to play the banjo introduction, goes over the progression and right hand technique, and includes the half-step modulation that happens before the third verse. It also addresses how to avoid the modulation and difficulty involved in playing it in Ab.

It's fun to imagine you and your buddy at age -- what, about 21? -- cracking up over The Muppet Show. I think I grok what your likely state of mind was.
