Thanks to a recent request we now have a lesson on Pacing The Cage by Bruce Cockburn.
Pacing The Cage is Bruce Cockburn’s gentle fingerpicking tune from his album The Charity Of Night, released in 1996. The song is played with a capo at the fourth fret and the picking is pretty standard alternate bass note patterns, with chords in the key of C major. Many of Bruce’s chord fingerings include wrapping the thumb over to fret the sixth string, and not all of these have good alternatives without changing the chord a bit. There are also some hammer-ons and partial barre chords.
