As mentioned recently, and promised, You Set The Scene is now live. The opening guitar part is very challenging and the rest has some advanced strumming techniques but I think a lot of you will have fun playing along with the original recording on Forever Changes, which is included as a segment in the lesson.

Love's third album, Forever Changes is considered by many to be one of the greatest albums of all time. It is a shame it is still so unknown. The album opens with Alone Again Or (which we have a lesson on) and closes with the masterpiece You Set The Scene. Both songs open with memorable guitar parts, which are very challenging to play, and continue with very unusual chord progressions and rhythmic variations.

You Set The Scene is really a medley of two separate songs that fit together beautifully. The lesson starts with a difficult cross picking arpeggio before launching into a progression that uses five major chords. The second song softens into a jazzier progression that also uses a bunch of chords outside standard major key conventions.
We recommend practicing along with the original recording for maximum fun!
