On the heels of my solo lesson from a feew weeks ago, Nesh brings us a lesson on Ferry Cross The Mersey the way it was originally done.

Ferry Cross The Mersey is a song written by Gerry Marden, recorded by his band and released in 1964/1965 becoming a big hit.

This lesson teaches a relatively simple accompaniment in the key of D, where the low E-string is tuned down a whole step to D. (Dropped D-tuning, Capo II )

It breaks down the intro, which continues in the verses, similar to how Gerry Marsden plays it.

We take a close up look at all the chords, as well as the strumming. The latter goes back and forth between the speed of 8th's and 16th's.

From there the progression should be fairly easy to play through.
