Some of you may have noticed a recent side project of mine was playing Stevie Wonder's As at an event recently. It seemed obvious to turn it into a lesson and I had to do it.
Stevie Wonder's 1976 album Songs In The Key Of Life was full of some of his masterpieces. The Grammy winning album included As, a tune many would not consider an acoustic guitar song. Due to a recent commitment, Neil was asked to accompany a couple singers in a performance of the tune.
Immediately afterward a few students expressed an interest in playing it so we bring you his interpretation of this catchy tune. The song uses some jazzy chords and features a percussive right hand technique that is similar to what we use in Bossa Nova tunes.
