Hey Folks,
Last week I posted a Review of SFlier working on this tune and promised a full lesson on it soon. Here is my breakdown of Tommy Emmanuel's arrangement of And So It Goes by Billy Joel. It is short but challenging, especially if you want to tackle the bridge that Tommy added. It is a right hand technique that can take years to master.

And So It Goes is a masterpiece of Billy Joel's that Tommy Emmanuel got a hold of and put out his own take on it. The original appeared on Billy Joel's Storm Front album and Tommy's arrangement captured the beautiful but melancholy spirit in his instrumental approach.

This lesson is based on a few of Tommy's performances, not just his original studio one. There are only two parts to the tune, a verse and a chorus, but this lesson also includes a look at a bridge Tommy added to stretch it out a bit. The right hand technique used in the bridge will be quite challenging for most guitar students, although even making the verse and chorus magically musical puts this piece in the advanced category.
