A couple students have been kicking around the idea of collaborating on a classic tune from a 1960s one-hit-wonder, Spiral Starecase. Their tune, More Today Than Yesterday is an upbeat, feel good masterpiece.
Spiral Starecase would have to be considered a one-hit-wonder, but what a hit More Today Than Yesterday was in 1969. The song was written by guitarist and vocalist Pat Upton, and went on to be covered by many great artists of the day, including Sonny & Cher. The guitar part featured quite a few jazz voicings of chords and this lesson looks at multiple ways of playing many of them. The lesson also includes a look at the very catchy bass part.
