Redneck Girl is a hit single recorded by American country music duo The Bellamy Brothers. It was released in 1982 and appears on their album 'Strong Weakness'.

This lesson teaches it in two keys, A and G (Capo II), as performed by the brothers.

We take a look at the chords, the I-IV-V-iv in both keys, the strumming and the progression.

The song has a catchy sound to it by accentuating the off beats/upstrokes. For that we break down a few techniques, such as muting the strings with the fretting hand, or the strumming hand. One would work best for the key of A, and the other for the key of G. It is encouraged to learn both.

That said, for beginners playing through it with a simple strumming pattern at the speed of 8th's would work just fine as well. Trying out both keys is again recommended.
