Hey Richard - two very nicely done pieces of music. I for one am looking forward to seeing and especially hearing more from you.

P.S. If Neil gets 'April Come She Will' up on the site I hope to see your video of it shortly afterward.

Keep Playing
Ric

Hi Ric,
I actually tried my hand on "April" yesterday. The chords are not that complicated but the fingerpicking will take some time to get down. I'll post my version when I get there.

Cheers.
Richard

Bonjour,
Could you give a few tips about the fingering in bar 8, especially on the 2nd and 3 chords (Em7 and Am7) ? Merci.

Sure. I use the pinky for the E on the Em7 (letting go of the other notes) and put the Am7 chord back on (middle on fifth, ring on fourth, index on second string) and use the pinky for getting the C# on the first string (while again releasing the other fingers, although you could hold them that extra 16th note).

Does this help?

Thanks, but I think my question wasn't clear enough.
I meant the right-hand fingering.

It's basically the same as before. The thumb (p) keeps switching between 6th, 5th and 4th string. The fingers stay on their strings, index (i) on the third, middle (m) on the second, ring (a) on the first. The Em7 bit is: p / i+m / p / i. Am7: p+m / i / p / a.

I knew there was something wrong in my fingering.
For bar 9 (the whole bar, not half of it), my fingering was: Am7 : p/i+m+a • Em7 : p/m+a/p/m • Am7 : p+a/i/p/a • G : p/p+m/Hammer-on...
It worked too...If you try it, tell me what you think.
I'll try yours after a little break. My fingers are burning, and so is head...or what's left of them.
Thanks again.

Yes, I slipped into this fingering too when I was learning the song but I prefer playing the steady eighth bass notes with the thumb. It took me some practice to pluck all the strings on the first Am7 chord though (and I'm not sure I actually get them all in the video).
It's a bit like the fourth bar, where thumb and index finger have to play the same string.
