OK, I feel lame having played for so long and not being able to figure out a one second snippet of music, but this has me stumped. A YouTube video of John Renbourn playing Jackson C. Frank's "Blues Run the Game" where at the 53 second mark he does a hammer-on/slide down around the 8th fret. Capo II, key of A. Karma point to whoever figures this out.

Linking the video would help. I found something on youtube, but there's no capo (at least I didn't see/hear any). There's a hammer-on at .53 though, 5-HO7-5 on the B-string if I'm not mistaken.

I spaced the link the first time but have added it. There's definitely a capo II.

Yep, I can hear now that it's capoed. Don't know why I didn't earlier. :) Anyway, what's wrong with the hammer-on on the B string? Hammer on E to F# then pluck E again. isn't that what he's doing?

I agree mostly with richardk but I think the HO is followed by a PO

Yes, and I could swear there's a slide down as well. So B string F# to G# hammer-on/pull-off and possible slide down. He also has a bass note in there as well which I believe is an E played open on the fourth string (capo II). What throws me on this video is that to me he appears to play an open note on one of the first two strings just before the hammer-on. However, this doesn't seem to work when I do it so maybe it's some sort of illusion on my eyes.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll fool with it more...
