My formal training, according to those closest to me, came from completely disassembling everything around me as a kid! Man I used to piss my folks off with that. I just have more expensive toys these days and am fearful of taking them apart now......

If it stinks it's chemistry
If it wiggles it's biology
If it doesn't work it's physics

Wow, what's with the engineers on this site? I was a musician first and then became a network engineer. Maybe we should have our own board or group.

Keep Playing

I wouldn't say I was a musician, but I was playing
guitar long before I decided to go into 'Ohm's Law
Enforcement'. lol

Until now, I had never pondered the relationship
between slide rules and guitar necks. But with
such a gathering of engineers, there must be something
to it! lmao

I've always heard that music is very mathematical. Perhaps since we seem to have a quorum of engineers here, we can figure out the relationship.

I recall Ohms law from broadcasting class back in the day. Lets see... I over E times R = DON'T TOUCH IT! or something like that....

You know, Neil talked about loving math in one of the webinars (and how it related to music), and I e-mailed him once to expand, but it was right when the site was getting up and I am sure it is not a hot topic for most. I for one would be very interested to see what one could make of Math and Music. It might make more sense to me.....

My former instructor was writing a song completely based upon the golden ratio. Never heard the final product....

I think that memorizing songs would probably be easier for me if I memorized chord numbers instead of names....

Sad to be me (lol).....
