Plus his timing sounds a bit off so that makes it harder yet.
I have a friend that is a pretty good player, but his timing sux. He is like an old man on the expressway, speed up, slow down, speed up, slow down... He drives me crazy trying to follow him!

Sounds like a few drummers I've played with (sorry Chris!) lmao!!

Don't apologize to me Rick. Nobody knows more about the evils of drummers than I. I spent over 15 years trying to keep them and the guitars playing the same song with varying degrees of success.

I know a few drummers that are very exceptional. They keep time as well as a metronome.

If they can keep time at all, they're exceptional.

Thanks, I'm here all week. But... truth be told, I have had the pleasure to work with several gifted drummers. One even teaches music at university level now.

I need to get a metronome, which Boss do you have or one you would recommend?

Thanks Kenny

Wow! I am blown away by all the time each of you have spent sharing your answers. Many musicians are generous with sharing knowledge but you all are awesome. REALLY - thank you. I am taking your advice and going back to focusing on the metronome and timing.

Andy- you big peacemaker!! lol! Silly Muppet, don't you know that if they can keep time they aren't called drummers! OF course some can keep time but the challenge is getting them to keep time on the same song the rest of the band id playing!! lmao!
