Romanza. There is one simple barre chord shape that I simply can't get enough pressure on to make it ring clear. Very frustrating. I've tried everything I can think of.

Mark- the plural of nemesis is nemeses and there are many in the TARGET catalog!!

Plural to be sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right now I am learning two different songs:

"Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver

"Chevy Van" by Sammy Johns

Both are proving to be a bit difficult to date.

Chevy Van looks to be a very simple song, but I just can't get the strum pattern down for the life of me.

Rocky Mountain High is not super hard so far, but I am struggling with a couple of the hammer-ons right now......

I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN.......... :woohoo:

i have 2....

ventura highway by america - i CANNOT get the strumming pattern up to speed

Babe i'm gonna leave you by Led Zep - i never hit the C properly when moving to the F barre shape. This is particularly annoying because i really like the song and can play it well all except that one illusive note!!!

THE CLAP, by Steve Howe / Yes. I can play about half of it, but it is such a large piece I never seem to get to the end even thought I have an accurate tab transcription. I am launching a campaign here to get Neil to make in a new advanced lesson. Anyone else want to join in ?

I hear you Matt. My tip play it real slow, really laid back lazy and just keep playing it over like that. Don't go near the real speed. Couple of days latter play along with Neil and just strum along with it... you may be surprised! The original is really fast but it doesn't need to be played at that speed. Wait 'til you try the phrasing on the singing at the same time. MURDER! :-)

Bear,

I have learned from a friend that I have waded into dangerous waters. I mean no disrespect to anybody. Not you or anyone named Walt. As you know I am kinda new here. I guess sometimes I have a way of letting my fingers out-think my head. That said, the only person on this site I would ever intentionally offend is Dennis from Seattle, a personal friend, and a guy who deserves offending often. :)
