Would anyone be interested in seeing a survey of the members showing a breakdown of age, sex, primary/secondary instruments played, level of experience (beginner, intermediate, advanced), style of music interest (blues, rock, country, etc.), location they live in, how long they have been a target member or do they use TG free site only, or pay lessons. If you have any other survey questions you would like answered please feel free to include them.

TG could use this information to help align their site with needs of the customers (it already the best site) but everything can be improved upon. For example if 85% of the membership is beginners and only 10-25% of the lessons are for beginners then more emphasis needs to be on beginner lessons.

Surveys could be taken periodically to update the information as the site moves forward. Sharing the results with the members would be beneficial.

Thanks, just a thought from a beginner who really doesn't know much, but hopes to learn.

Apart from very mild curiosity, I wouldn't really have much interest in that information. Also, some of it is proprietary (such as how many Target members there are), and Matt's not going to want to reveal it.

Would only have to show percentages not actual counts. Participation is voluntary so not everyone would participate. This information would give you a breakdown of the age groups, sex, experience levels etc..

These studies have been done already. You can purchase them from any good demographic broker. They've had the guitar market pegged for sometime.

thx for the thought..we have more data than we need right now..

So surveys that are shared publicly are not something we need to do..

Individual polls on the guitar brands and all that sort of stuff are very cool to run...also look out for the new site , coming soon, that does some new things ...

; )
