Didn't Neil just upload 'Happy Together' by the Turtles?

There's a happy tune that yeveryone knows and will sing along to.

(it's also fingerpicking, so you'll like that, Michele)

hi Shel,

i love sad songs and tend to gravitate towards them, too, but there are times that a cheery song is in order. I'd highly recommend Alice's Restaurant to cheer you up. The guitar solo version has no words to bring you down, and the tune is about as jolly as you can get! But if you want a song to sing that's not sad, how about Weezer's Island in the Sun? It's a barre chord song, so a bit of a challenge, but it's really cheery!

Yep, that's also the very first one that comes to my mind, 'Walking on sunshine!'

And of course 'Happy together' as Al suggested, I often listen to those songs when I'm in the car, they always lift up my spirits! :cheer:

But I'll think of something more!

I too am drawn to the melancholy songs and Am is my favourite chord on the guitar and I play many songs which feature Am strongly and if I noodle its Am based. I guess we connecting with the blues on guitar is a good way of exorcising them.

here's an obvious and fun and simple one to do Michele....

or if you're feeling really wicked ...
