Hi everyone,

I'd love to try a chord solo with the song True Love Travels on a Gravel Road as done by Nick Lowe.

Can anyone help with the chords? or offer any advice?

Dean

TRUE LOVE TRAVELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD

Verse 1:
C/G
How many girls
Em
Choose cotton dress worlds
F C/G
When they could have satins and lace

And stand by her man
Em
Through good times and bad
F G
And still keep a smile on her face
C/G
And how many hearts

Could face the winters we've known
F C/G
And still not turn gold

Chorus:
C/G F C/G
True love travels on a gravel road

Bridge:(Willie Nelson)
C/G
Love is a stranger and hearts are in danger
F
On smooth streets
C/G
Paved with gold

Chorus.

Verse 2:(Johnny Cash then Waylon Jennings)
C/G
Down through the years
Em
We've had hard times and tears
F C/G
But it only makes our love grow

And we'll stay together
Em G
No matter how hard the wind blows
C/G
Not once have i seen your

Blue eyes fill with envy
F
Or stray from the warmth
C/G
That they hold

Chorus.

Thanks guys, for the intro to Mr. Lowe. This is a GREAT song...I see why you like him, Dean.
(He's a little bit of a crooner and I don't even mind that in this case.) I think I might have heard him on a
"sopranos"soundtrack...but I'm not sure.

Good luck with the Chord Solo thing, Dean. Hope you have better luck then I did in my several attempts.

Nick Lowe is one of the greatest British songwriters ever, he has been consistently good for decades. I can't reccomend his last couple of albums highly enough, 'The Impossible Bird' was up there with anything by Dylan. BTW his version of 'The Beast in Me' was featured on The Sopranos, a sparce acoustic number that suits his basement-low voice so well.
Would make a good lesson... ;)

Yeah " the beast in Me" from way back in first or second season of that show...that's right. that is a real good song. I am going to look into more of Nick Lowe's stuff. Quality and very original, dude.
