Just a few weeks until Thanksgiving here in the US. I'm thinking I should probably resume learning Alice's Restaurant. I didn't finish the job last year. I'm hoping not to have as much trouble with it this year.

So call me an idiot, but what's the connection between Alice's Restaurant and Thanksgiving??

Good luck Jay, the song is a little bitch, but much fun to play! :)

Nesh,
Alice's Restaurant is a narrative song about a real event in Arlo Guthrie's life that occurred on Thanksgiving Day in Stockbridge, Massachusetts around 1966. The story humorously wanders all over the place and has a strong anti Viet Nam war message.

Good luck, Jay! I've never gotten the song to the point I want it. But it's still really fun to play! Can't wait to see your vid.

Vanessa, you'll laugh your butt off when you hear the original version. I was so unique, and it truely became an American Classic.
