Not at all for me.... :(

I must admit that it is one of those songs that is on the list, but is probably some time off for me. I like to blame it on Neil, cause he just keeps adding too many other good songs to get to.... ;) :P ;) :P

I don't play it. Didn't you see the sign in the store?

Very well. I've been playing that song for 30 years. I switch to a 12 string guitar when the song goes into the second half.

You want that with or without 'bonus notes'????? :silly: It is not a song that I play very often, but I can usually get from "embarrassing" to "Passable" in about 4 or 5 playthroughs. And I never play it in a guitar store. :)

I voted never. This wasn't always the case. I was playing guitar pre-Wayne's World movie, and people like me were the reason for the sign. I wanted to play that song so much that I'd......

1. Wake up - play Stairway
2. Take a shower - play Stairway
3. Eat breakfast - play Stairway
4. Go to school - play Stairway
5. Eat lunch - play Stairway
6. Get home - play Stairway......

......and on and on ad nauseam. Needless to say, the people around me (me included) grew exceedingly tired of it. The music store sign is there not only to protect the public, but also for your own safety. It taught me the "too much of a good thing" lesson of life.

Stairway is a great song and I admire anyone who can play it well, but I think it has run its course with me.

Another note: When Bassman Jerry and I were getting our garage band together a couple of years ago, he said, in no uncertain terms, he never wants to play Proud Mary ever again. Seems as though those 70's gigs did that one in for him.

I must be about the same age as Hydroman.

I too, played that song out. I used to be able to play the intro, and then all of the rhythm guitar through all the sections. No longer. At some point I just stopped. But the sign helped. I did the same thing with Neil Young's "Ohio". I'm sure I learned something with all that playing.

And I still love to listen to both songs.
