I'm listening to some new artists at the moment. One of them is a young edgy Australian rocker by the name of Dallas Frasca. She's pretty cool. I've been enjoying her stuff. But when I heard her sing "...got to find the gooder way..." (Ain't No Fury - from her 2012 album Sound Painter) I cracked up and my brain went " What!? Gooder? What the hell is wrong with 'better'" it's still a cool song, but 'gooder'!?

OK I just showed my age I'm sure.

Got any other examples of stupid lyrics?

Okay, here’s a good (gooder?) example … The 2nd verse of Greg Lake’s “Still You Turn Me On”

I love the song but I can’t help but cringe when singing the words “Someone get me a ladder”

I hate it when lazy songwriters need to fill a syllable, and just grab the first word that comes to mind. Aside from that, the above line makes absolutely no sense anyway.

I kinda remember Steve Martin doing a bit about that particular line. America is one of my favorite bands but this may not have been their best moment. Cool tune though.
