Hi Neil,

I really enjoy the lessons that you teach, you are an excellent player as well as teacher. I am somewhat disappointed though... I really like old country music such as Hank Jr, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Keith Whitley and also Jamey Johnson, arpeggio and finger picking type music. You have very little of that type of music on your site. I have recommended several songs but they never seem to get recognized. I know I'm not the only person on here that likes country music or even bluegrass. Thanks for listening to me rant but it's very hard to find anything on You Tube that teaches arpeggio's. Thanks again Neil and keep up the good work!

If Hank Jr. is "old country music," what does that make Hank Sr.?

He's old compared to the "pop country" we have these days.

It's true. These pop country acts don't do old-time, squarejaw, straight-from-the-soil country stuff like "Are You Ready For Some Football." It's all about celebrity for them.

My post should have read "good ole country music", not the Brantley Gilbert stuff you hear these days.

I didn't post my request to stir up controversy, just merely hoping to get some lessons and insight for the style of music that I really enjoy playing. Old old, new old, 80's ,90' is all good to me.

Hi Kwadams88! Welcome to TG. Seems like things got off on the wrong foot in this thread. I think we all understand wanting to see lessons on exactly the style of music we like. There are some great lessons on country songs here, like some of the recent songs by Glen Campbell or Jim Croce. It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it might be a nice place to start looking. And don't lose hope with recommending lessons. Sometimes it takes Neil a while to get to lessons we want to see, but often enough he DOES get to them.

Anyway, hope you find some lessons here that pique your interest.

Suzi
