I appreciate your kind words. The artists that you mentioned are not in the same style as what I had requested. They don't play any cross picking or arpeggios. These are the things I am really wanting to learn.

Thanks!

Hey there,
I'm curious about the style you are talking about - it definitely sounds like something that would interest me, too.
Can you post links to a couple of youtubes that illustrate this kind of music.
Thanks so much,
Lynn

I knew there was someone else on here that would appreciate this type of music! I have attached a couple... these are the same ones that I had posted for recommended lessons on this site which nobody seemed to like. Thanks!

( Jamey Johnson-In color)

Alan Jackson -Blues man)

I just think the picking in the beginning sounds really cool and would like to be able to play it as well as they do.

kwadams

For any one else interested, here are a couple of shortcuts to vote for them.

In Color - Jamie Johnson
The Blues Man - Alan Jackson

I'm glad you liked them, hopefully others will too and we can get Neil to post lessons on these! Thanks for the votes and the encouraging words...

Hi kwadams,
Thanks for posting those links. I love "In Color".
I thought while we are waiting for a lesson on this, maybe we could work it out a bit.
Here is my brief effort (sorry I hadn't even gotten out of my pajamas yet).
I'm no great guitarist, and it seems like everything I play kind of sounds alike, but here's a start....
