I know many songs in B. Can not play them yet, but there are quite a few. Very rare is a song in F for me.
Never saw a song in a minor that I know of...

Yes and No
The keys of Am and C contain the same notes. The difference is which chord (Am or C) the song centres around. In other words which chord is the tonal centre.
This chord would normally be the first and last chord of the song.

So for Am there is classical gas or Is there anybody out there
and for C there is streets of london or Don't think twice

With very heavy emphasis on the first two, especially for folk and rock. :cheer:

My vote goes for C, A, G, E, D, Am, Em there are of course others but these are probably the most widely used especially for guitar. These 7 keys are used in literally used in millions of songs.

The thing to remember also is that even though a song is in a particular key doesn't mean it it can't or won't borrow chords for other keys (parallel minor, parallel major or nearby keys). It also doesn't mean it has to or will stay in the key it started in, but that's a different story.
