As a rock climber I was plagued by broken nail syndrome for a long time until my guitar instructor gave me a tip. Put a couple coats of Nail Repair (matt) from Trind and your nails will be bullet proof. I buy this stuff in the drug store here in Europe and don't know if it availbalbe everywhere.
