I work on an song, the song is the most easy one there is they say but i want to try it in an minor key Em
The original is in G (on my sheet) and have chords 1-4-5-6 in it G-C-D-Em .
So in Em I figure they must be Em-Am-Bm-C...('m I right)

ThE first 4 melody notes in G are D-D-D-(on the G chord) E (on the C chord) ...Q: how are the melody notes in Em going to look???

HELP..I have my thought but 'm not sure..

Willem

Generally a song in a major key would be transposed to another major key. Changing it to a minor key will completely alter the nature of the song and be a lot more complicated than a simple transposition, I think.

Believe you are correct Willem! :)

1, 4, 5, 6 in E minor would be: Emin, Amin, Bmin, C.

I don't quite understand the other part of your question?

EDIT: Okay now I get it Willem... Okay the melody notes in E would be BBB C. I'm figuring this as it relates to the scale. I believe
that is correct. See if it works for you.
