Thanks for the lead on that one. I checked out the web page and you are correct. They get $40.00 for the year for 4 issues. That's one I'll wait till I start playing for money. lol
I tell you what, Fretboard Journal for only $10/issue is a bargain: you get *way* more than twice the quality and material than you do from one of the monthly mags that go for about $5, like Acoustic Guitar (which I also like actually). $10 is a steal. Quality vs quantity in my book any day. I hadn't yet subscribed, but hearing that price I think I will.

No, I don't work for them or anything -- but I am partial to magazines that make their money by really focusing on quality rather than advertising and have articles longer than 1 or 2 pages. Surfboard Journal and Alpinist magazines, same thing.

My 2 cents...

I really like Guitar Noise magazine. It has very similar content to Totally Guitar.

Yes you can, though I find my local music store has them more reliably. Newstand price is closer to $15/issue if I recall.

Hi Jim

Here in the UK I get Acoustic magazine. This month it includes;

interviews with Richard Thompson, Stefan Grossman, Kip Winger (!) and a few other younger whipper-snappers

gear reviews on 6 acoustics, (Peerless, Walden, Faith, Cuntz, Alvarez, Freshman) and a mandolin

special features on the new Gryphon 12 string, a history of British folk music and how to convert an acoustic for lap-style playing

Guitar techniques (though no CD)

also uk tour notes and reviews of new web sites and new products on the market

this is the web site - it'll give you an idea of what's going on

They do US subscriptions if you're interested. If you'd like to read a copy first send me your address and i'll post one over

I like the free one. It comes to my email once a month. Lots of ads, but its free so who cares?

Premier Guitar. Its got some good content. It's not what I would buy, but its more than worth the price!
