Hi Captain... looking forward to this but the video is not loaded properly on YOutube. Did you wait long enough before posting the link here. Or is my browser totally messed up now?!
Cap,
I was able to load it just fine, but the sound was pretty garbled. What I could hear sounded great. It was interesting to see the chords to a song I've heard so many times, and also interesting that you played along with The Moody Blues.

Dennis,
Sound is pretty garbled from the recording, sorry.

Hi Captain, I think you did very well, you were following the song, so your rhythm is good and so was your fingerpicking. Some work to be done on the chord changing fluidity but overall very nice.
I doubt that the sound issue is because of your processor, otherwise the video would have a problem as well. Have you tried to record yourself without the song playing to see if the garble is still there (maybe the song playing cause a feedback to your guitar recording)?

That looks like a difficult song for the following reasons:
1) multiple barre chords
2) mostly melody notes in the fingerpicking
3) multiple transitions from strumming to fingerpicking
Despite these reasons, it sounds quite good. Yes, there's some work to be done, but a very solid performance that will only improve with time. Enjoyed it.

Captain!
Nice post, and also a good idea to play along with the original song.
My advice would be to check your strumming. Keep a constant up/down motion- even when you're not connecting with the strings. Neil says this a lot and it's tough to do.
Looking forward to an update!
