So, here it is - my contribution to confirming that Neil was correct during the most recent TG Live when he said that this was too tricky to play. Unfortunately by that time Gary had already piqued my interest with his own post and requests for assistance in how it should be approached. Gary, I hope you don't mind me pinching your idea, sorry it took so long.

It is also a chance to show off my recent acquisition, the Takamine New Yorker, their latest parlour sized model. Spruce top, rosewood back and sides (with a quilted maple inlay) and more abalone than you can shake a stick at. Pictures are available in my New Yorker album. I'd thoroughly recommend this size of guitar to anyone considering purchasing a 2nd guitar, especially if you only play at home. It is very comfortable compared with having a big dread on your lap. Less volume, but that's OK - I'm generally pretty close to it while I'm playing. It still sounds new, but that's only to be expected.

I probably wouldn't have gone so far as posting this video if I hadn't been coaxed, cajoled and prodded into it by a fellow TG member who shall remain anonymous but she does have a track record for this kind of thing. Be warned..........

What the....? I thought this was going to be "Black Water." What a disappointment.

That was wonderful. I don't know how you couldn't be pleased with it because it sounds absolutely beautiful. I already liked your original post of Melissa w/o melody tons, but this really kicked it up a notch.

I also am very covetous of your beautiful Tak New Yorker (and not JUST because I'm a former New Yorker). Is the parlor size smaller than the Taylor Grand Concert size (my guitar size)? It's hard to tell in your video, since you're obviously a bigger person than me. I love the warm color of the wood. Beautiful.

I'm not at all familiar with the song, Stuart, but I loved your post. Oh, and the new ax sounds great.

Reiver, I think I know what you mean and also what Neil is pointing out difficult to get fluency. But you still did it justice mate, that was good. Like the Tak also.

Great job R ! I have no idea how it sounds because I'm at the squash club and the proffies are hammering away at the walls so I can't hear a thing! But it looks great: Beautiful Takamine and you've got your Scotland shirt on for Murray. This is probably an excellent song, well done!

Very enjoyable. Guitar sounds great by the way. By adding the melody to it makes all the difference. Noticed a very small pick. What are you using there?
