Very nice Marc, your voice suits these ballad style of song. Shawn Phillips is an amazing person, and his story is worth looking up, been around a lot longer than some realise.

Marc
Why are you keeping your voice to yourself.......it should be out for everyone to enjoy. You carry that song wonderfully. Great job, pleasure to listen to.

Chris (did I say I love your avatar?) Bear,Jay,Bob,Tony,Bill,Chas, Rick, Hope,Nancy,Dave: thank you all for taking the time to post as response. Contrary to playing guitar where I am reasonably confident, singing was a big step. Matt might have been the one breaking my reluctance to sing when he said that if he can we all should. He sang without holding back giving a show.

I will never be a singer but because of you I might do it again (you only have yourself to blame ;) ). Regarding Shawn Phillips, as Jay, Bear and Chas have noted, he is one of a kind: he is such an underrated musician with one of the most powerful voice.

Thanks

Marc

Hi Tammy, sorry, you post came out while I was typing. Thank you for your kind words, I am realistic about singing but at least I will at least give a try now, thanks to your support.

I looking forward to see if our voice coach could squeeze any improvements out of me. It will be like squeezing water out of rocks

Wow, Marc, I really liked that A LOT. I'm with Bear- I just love those old folk ballads. This wasn't a song I knew, but I'm going to try to find a copy of it now.

I also think your voice really suits the style of this song. And, I have to say, I really enjoy the way your accent comes out in the singing. Very appealing.

Thanks Suzi, I glad this sweedish accent, I have been working on, is coming out

You are right, like Bear said those old folk ballads are always emotional but often somewhat dark and sad.
