Really liked your take on it. Anyone else hear a bit of David Byrne in the vocals? (Meant as a compliment).

Hi Bob & Al,

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I would definitely take a comparison with David Byrne as a compliment. Funny you should mention him, actually. I had a really hard time keeping "Take Me to the River" out of my head while trying to learn the bass riff.

I just wrote a fairly lengthy response to this video, then inexplicably clicked the cancel button. How annoying. Bottom line, though, was this: well done as usual, and I liked the fact that it was something different than other videos you have posted.

Hi Jay,

That's frustrating. I would like to have read your full response. I appreciate the effort, nevertheless.

Thanks,
Stuart

Hi Stuart really enjoyed that, in fact so much I've spent most of the weekend searching the various versions and playing it. The version I've kinda stuck with is one where you do a Bass walk down on the G to D/F#, and less on treble strings. Nicely sung also.

Hi Chas,
Glad to hear that you're working on this. There are a lot of interesting versions out there on the web. I learned a lot from a youtuber called ingombro. Not sure whether I came across the one you mentioned, but I look forward to hearing what you do with this.

Stuart- I fell behind on watching/commenting in student review videos and am trying to catch up on some of them.

I agree with the previous posters- well done on both the playing and the singing! I thought your voice sounded great in this song- I wish I could sing half as well as you!

Hi Stuart...this was a GREAT post and I can't see anything that needs work. You have the perfect singing voice for this, and your guitar work is beyond reproach. Keep up the good work, looking for more uploads from you!
