Vanessa,
Wow- I am so glad that my video inspired you to learn this song and then post it. And what a wonderful job you did on it! Every note sounded great and the whole things was smooth and beautiful. LOVED that you were able to alternate the bass notes on the C chords (which I just couldn't make happen). Beautiful slides, especially the one into the C chord. And I loved your finish. I used to have a dance teacher who would say "Always begin and finish like a star!" and you surely did!
Really nicely done!

Thank you very much Mark and I'm sure you can and you will, you just need to shed blood sweat and tears for a while, just like me!

What else can I say except that was superb!!! I loved evey note of it. I just hope that I can get somewhere close to that in the next 11 months so I can play it for Thanksgiving of next year.

Haha, phew indeed!
Now thát is really the greatest thing, the fact that we can inspire each other in learning new songs, very curious what will come out of your fingers as well!
Thanks a lot!

quote from "Alice's Restaurant" lyrics:
Really admirable job on the fingerpicking Vanessa! Are we being too greedy, "just waitin' for it to come around?" Any takers ?
Pierre
end of quote... And that's what it is , the Alice's Restaurant Anti-Massacre Movement, and
all you got to do to join is sing it the next time it come's around on the
guitar.
With feeling. So we'll wait for it to come around on the guitar, here and
sing it when it does. Here it comes.
(audience sings along)
You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant
You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant
Walk right in it's around the back
Just a half a mile from the railroad track
You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant
(return to Arlo Guthrie on stage)
That was horrible. If you want to end war and stuff you got to sing loud.
I've been singing this song now for twenty five minutes. I could sing it
for another twenty five minutes. I'm not proud... or tired.
So we'll wait till it comes around again, and this time with four part
harmony and feeling.
We're just waitin' for it to come around is what we're doing.
Really admirable job on the fingerpicking Vanessa! Are we being too greedy, "just waitin' for it to come around?" Any takers ?
