Have been working on this since Neil came out with the lesson. This band has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Was especially interested if I was keeping pace with the original. The guitar is a Martin 12

Gosh, snipe, that sounded just terrific. I thought your strumming was excellent and on a par with what was in the original song. By the way, if ever there was a song built for a 12-string, it's that one.

Snipe-ster, You don't mess around! Pert ' near perfection! Very smooth and polished sounding. I really, really liked that very much. Thanks for posting....you should post way more often, fella.

Mike, I thought you did a very fine job with that. Your transitions were right on the money and your strumming was nice and relaxed. I like the barefoot mellow look as well :-) I kept waiting for you to break out and sing this song as well. I agree that it is a great song for the 12 string.

Mike- NICE!!

Two coincidences here-
I've been working on this song since Neil put it up, and I was going to post it today as well. I got sidetracked, but I'm so glad to see another version of it- especially played on a Martin 12! That's the other coincidence.. The reason I was sidetracked was I went by my local music store today and was playing this song on a Martin 12 in there!

About your playing- very enjoyable and really solid strumming. I liked how you switched up the patterns at different parts of the song.
But I think you might do the same thing as me-- that is to speed up as you get closer to the end of the song.

One thing I missed in your version was in the very last bit where you slide your D-shape up and down before hitting the 14th fret. I go 2nd fret, 7th fret, 9th fret, 7th fret, 2nd fret THEN go to the 14th fret. Neil does a better job of explaining it than me.

Anyways, LOVED IT!

Mike,

That sounded FANTASTIC and easily good enough to be up on a stage.

I really need to look at the lesson too.

Spectacular playing Mike... you nailed it! Great sound on that lovely 12 string. I was playing a long for a while until you lost me... must get some practice in on that.
Maybe a tad fast... might be difficult to keep up with on the singing. Congrats!

PS: Now Al has to wait a week while you bask in the sun. Snoozers and losers Al! ... But weare really looking forward to your post. Double wammy here!
