I'm my own worst critic but having listened to this again I realise I've neglected the advice Neil gave about emphasising the last bass note before the missing bass note. It needs more punch, if I ever get the whole thing together I'll make sure to improve this section.
Edit: that comment was meant for section 2... D'oh!
