Gosh John ( I saw one of your other posts).
That was was well played.
How long have you been practicing it?
Nice guitar too.
Oh, I may be entering the realm of another stupid question, but I'm thinking out loud!
I've always wondered why in Classical Music the same piece of music
is written in different keys by a composer.
Is it to achieve a different sound, to ease playing or other reasons ?
I mean, in popular etc music where folk sing the key may be chosen to accommodate the singers vocal range.
I'll look forward to your review.

Thanks Dermot,
I have been working on that piece for about a week. Although to be fair, I played around with it years ago but never completed it. There are definately a few flubs, but it is the kind of piece that one can always improve upon in terms of fluidity, dynamics, expressiveness, clarity, musicality, etc. I was just happy to get through it without any major trainwrecks.
I believe that Bach wrote that piece in Cm. It was probably transposed to D to make it a little more playable on the guitar. I have seen youtube videos of it being played in Cm. (as well as about 100 videos of people playing it better than me. But hey, we're all here to learn and improve.)
It may make for a good lesson.
Cheers,
John

If there were any train wrecks John, it would have to be someone familiar with the music to spot them.
I enjoyed your performance and I will learn from your effort too when review comes up.
Thanks
