J.Crocket... thanks for sharing your video.
That looks like a great tune to learn.

Neil, thanks so much for the review and the great pointers. The comment on the tempo is spot-on, and it’s something I’ve often struggled with, although practicing with a metronome has definitely helped.

As I’m practicing with your points in mind, I’m finding that your tip on focusing on the bass is also helping me with the tempo issue - it’s not as easy to inadvertently speed up when concentrating on the alternating bass notes. Kind of like having an internal metronome anchoring your song.

Jeff,

Nice job on tis song! I have enjoyed listening to you.

Sorry I am late responding to your post but I still cannot watch Neil's review and I have treid since the day this was posted. However, I can see your song on the forum page. When I try to click on the review, nothing happens. Oh well, I got to enjoy your playing anyway.

Thanks for sharing...
Bart

I loved it the first time around, and even more this time. You have made alot of progress over the 2 years or so that I've watched your videos.

Neil and J. Crocket

I'm learning Freight Train at the moment and at the beginning concentrated on the bass only.
By practicing playing only the bass note sequence (no melody notes ) with the chord changes.
I took that idea from the Dave Mathews Crash Into Me lesson.
I've tried this with Windy and Warm too.

I always appreciate when efficient chord fingering is highlighted.
I do my best to watch for this in the lessons.

Thanks for sharing
