Another Capo Question

While playing guitar with some friends of mine on Thursday, one of the guys pulled out a 'short-cut capo' and a 'drop-D capo' for his guitar. Of course I had to try it. I have to admit it was a little different, but I'm still not sure if I like it yet. (Well enough to buy my own)
I was just wondering if Neil or any of the other members have any experience (good or bad) with the 'short-cut capo', 'drop-D capo', 'spider capo' or any other model of partial capo. Thanks

Nope.Don't own one.And no experience.So no help here Bill.I use a shubb capo.But I've seen them used on You-tube.

well, I never used capos much, but I gotta say the partial capos are interesting because I can still play normally , and, get all these open string tunings. I now own most all of them and use the spidercapo because it does every possibility-your not locked into just 1 thing like the short-cuts.
spidercapo works well and as I get into it , I'm trying more and more different things....

Thanks for the info, Joe. Since these are 'simulated tunings' using the spider capo, how does it sound? Some better than others?

Bill- I've messed around a bit with just using my Kyser clamp-style capo and only putting it on the highest five strings to get drop D. Seems to work okay when I'm too lazy to re-tune (which is most of the time!).

I think bottom line- these are all just tools to increase flexibility on our instrument of choice. :cheer:
