Which guitar?
This is an easy question. Play both quitars.
Which one do you like better. Buy that one.
Dont get confused abount the technical stuff.
PS I have a Taylor 710CE and I love it!
Taylor 314 ce or 312 ce?
BB, thanks for all the info, in was really helpful although I still have a lot of work to do, mainly find a store that has some or all of these guitars available to compare. I have a strat like Peavy and played one back in my garage band days and I know what you mean about the ease of fingering and moving around the neck compared to the acoustics I have played. Does that ease of playing apply to barr chords as well because that would be an awesome benefit. Again I appreciate your time to explain all you did. I started off thinking.. Martin but I kinda doubt that will be my final choice now. Gary

I'll bet with the maple sides and back that guitar really sings! Is it really bright? Be careful, your wife will think you are having an affair with your new guitar! LOL!
Enjoy your new purchase! That's a big purchase for anyone but you'll get a lot of enjoyment for years! :cheer:
Albedoya- Congrats on your new Taylor and welcome to the program! We're glad to have you! If you feel comfortable doing so, we'd love to have you introduce yourself in the Please Introduce Yourself thread.Early this week, I received my new Taylor 614CE. I totally love it. This will probably be my last guitar. I cannot put it down. My wife is jealous I'm spending so much time with her. The sound is just what I was looking for... and looks?!?! What a beautiful instrument; it really is a piece of work. Very pricy but so far I'm not regretting it.

I had that same guitar and sold it to my best guitar buddy. What a stupid thing to do!! What was I thinking? He loves it but won't give it back. It was my first Taylor. At least I get to see it once in awhile. Still sounds beautiful! :cheer:Which guitar?

If you can, play a Martin and see if you like it. They make great guitars and I would never dismiss them just because I fell in love with Taylor!
Have fun! :cheer:
Gary- you're most welcome! Spending that much money is a big decision. Yes, absolutely that neck helps with barre chords but they still require good technique and hand position.BB, thanks for all the info, in was really helpful although I still have a lot of work to do, mainly find a store that has some or all of these guitars available to compare. Chas, Bear.. taking your advice & comparing guitars. I'm going to San Diego, CA the first week in Sept. to visit family and a wedding. Looked online & San Diego Old Time Music, sdoldtimemusic.com has me drooling. They have on hand, Bourgeois, Collings, Ehlers, Goodall, Larrivee', Martin, Santa Cruz and Taylor. You can bet I'm reserving some comparison time in that store. Also going to Sea World with my daughter and 2 granddaughters 6&8 who are coming in from Phoenix. You guys come up with some awesome ideas. YeeeHaw. Sure am looking forward to seeing the little ones. Thankx, Gary
If your going to be in San Diego, you should take the Taylor Factory tour and stop buy their support center. Its a wonderful tour, free and not far from SD!!!! I love Taylor guitars and now that I've had a chance to meet the Taylor people, I like it even more...good luck and have fun in SD!!! Mike Taylor 810

I want through the same thing. I opted for the 314ce, I love it.
I'm also looking very carefully at Taylor for my next guitar (with managerial approval).
On paper, I feel that the 314ce would be the best value for me. But, sadly, the importer of Taylor guitars to my non-US location doesn't import the 314ce! That means I'm going to have to look a the more expensive options that they carry--514ce and 814ce (did I say "sadly" before?
).
I will also look at Breedlove, Martin, and maybe Takamine, but I haven't had a chance to play any of these yet.

You know you can order a 314ce from Guitar Center and have it shipped right to you. They sell for $1,649 plus shipping which is way below list price. I would use FedEx or UPS for shipping, they both do a great job!

I have a Guitar Center a few miles from me and I shop there all the time!! Good store. It's a big toy store for musicians!
Breedlove is going to be harder to come by because they aren't as widely distributed and I don't know of any resources on line. Plus you really need to play a Breedlove before you buy it. Martin and Tak are pretty easy get on line.
BTW- where do you live? Are you in England? Good luck and cheers! :cheer:
