Wow, I picked the wrong guy to make a crack about something I was ill-informed about!! lol! (Dumb joke anyway on my part.) Thanks for all those juicy tidbits there
Chas. That is some good stuff! I didn't know any of that...wow. Bill is still awesome! maybe he really is Clapton.

Not dumb at all Cori, just one of those popular misconceptions that went around at the time and have lingered and been enhanced through time. EC was no angel in his younger days whatsoever, he could easily have gone off the rails but music saved him I believe and his time with the Grandaddy of British blues I guess was very influential in the young mans life (John Mayall).

And BIll if you're reading this , its all your fault lol!

Tony- I just got a minute to sit down and try to catch up on some TG posts and I hit on this one. WOW! I am truly humbled by the kind words you and others have expressed. It could not have hit me on a better day.

I'm in the process of moving tomorrow and as many of you know I am losing my home (second in 6 years) due to economic conditions. It's easy to feel sorry for myself and my situation but I'm not going there. There is so much to be thankful for. "I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet" describes my feelings exactly. My faith is rock solid and I know better times are ahead! I can still hammer out a few tunes so it can't be all bad! LOL!

Playing the guitar is a tremendously challenging task. That's why we sit in awe of a Neil Hogan or a Tommy Emanuel. If I can help just one person who is struggling, usually with the same things I've had difficulty with, then it is a very good day.

I have learned so much from all of you and truly been inspired by the amazing progress I see every day. To pick one person is impossible. If I could only pick one it would be you, Tony. From where you started to where you are now is simply amazing. Your patience and frankly, hard-headedness, to conquer certain songs is what really floats my boat.

But more than progress on this wonderful musical instrument we all love, what truly inspires me is all the friends I've made, the camraderie we've enjoyed and the hope for the future.

Thank you again my many wonderful friends! God bless you all!!

Rick

Another day, another A: Anton is my Man-of-the-day not just because he's a gentle, kind soul but because, like Willem, he manages to be with us from another culture and language and proves the point that in heart to heart communication, language is no barrier. I like Anton's attitude and the way he takes his music out onto the streets. That can be hard to do. Good on you Anton!
Thanks Kris for the kind words my friend.
I'm very happy with all my friend here, and Neil Hogan.
He gives me the power.

cheers.................Anton

I'd have to agree with you mate, and seeing I've already talked about Rick ( glad you got a bit of a lift from the thread old mate) so it's time to talk about Suzi:

I know a fellow who is pretty good with words, and I know at least 2 members who will receive the benefit of his prose when he returns from his overseas holiday. That's if he feels so inclined! In the meantime, I'll have a try.

Suzi has always handled herself with grace and style. Her guitar work has improved as much as anyone's and she is a serious student who deserves and gains everyone's respect. Personally, I gained insight into her balance and intelligence when she came out once and told me she disagreed with how I had handled a situation, and I knew then she was a person who isn't scared to say what she thinks even to a friend, certainly something I and I think most people value and isn't always easy to find. I suspect she is a great Mum (sorry Mom) and I sure hope she hangs around and continues to brighten this place up. I also hope I haven't embarrassed her!
