Anyone in the TG community have experience with walnut back and sides on an acoustic guitar? Martin's catalog described the tone as somewhere between rosewood and mahagony, which I found intriguing. The only walnut guitar I've played was a McPherson at a music store: sounded great but I need to play other walnuts to get a good idea of its tonal qualities. In this day and age of environmental concerns around harvesting of traditional tonewoods an acceptable alternative is a good thing to have.

I'm a traditionalist so rosewood is still my wood of choice but I played Taylor's all walnut guitar (T5?) and it sounded really nice. Different than rosewood but not objectionable. I don't even know if Taylor still offers this model but it was unique.
