Basic 12 string question electronic tuners

wow...I ask a simple question...and get back a bunch of valuable information.
First off I don't have a 12 string. I was just trying to gather information so
I don't buy something I can't tune. But I can say this...the half step drop tuning with a capo is a very interesting idea. I can see where you are lowering the tension on the stirngs and thus the resistance against your fingers and the highth of the strings for the same reason. Thus making it easier to play and bend notes and things like that.
I also heard the view...don't do that...but I think I might try it at least once...and see how it works for me.

I also found it interesting that the high-g string is really pushing limits and breaks a lot. Which made me think of the 6 string steel guitar I bought a while back and how much higher tension I had to put on the g string to get it in tune. I did get it in tune. But it is very noticable the higher tension on that string. Alas I am about to swtich strings on it and see what happens...but alas I order extra-lights...for the convenience of getting exactly what I am looking for and get medium...so will have to wait for that.
