What Made You Start Playing Guitar?

My parents started me on piano when I was 3, and then when I was 13 I made the horrendous, life changing decision to play rock and roll on the bass. Had I not made that decision, and continued in the direction I was going, having already learned jazz standards and ragtime, I'd probably consider the person I would have become much cooler than the person I am now. Oh well, I don't necessarily regret it, but when I was 13 rock and roll was cool, and now I realize that jazz is much cooler than rock and roll could ever be. Wes Montgomery > Angus Young. Hahahaha.
